Tasting Notes

The grapes from old vines were planted in 1982 at a high elevation site in the Yakima Valley. Medium gold in color, with rich aromas of apple and pears, white flowers, honey, baking spices, and orange cream. Crisp entry of lemon and lemon crème quickly yields to spiced pear and melon. Medium to medium plus acidity, good body, good mid-palate, lovely lemon, pear, and honey finish. Beautiful wine. Enjoy this now through 2027.

Designation: Columbia Valley
Production Method: Hand-picked by the winemakers frequent lees stirring, and 18 months in neutral and French oak barrels (17% new). 100% malolactic secondary fermentation. Unfined and unfiltered.

In Greek mythology, Maenads were the warriors of the Greek god, Dionysus. Roaming the mountains and forests, these women would perform frenzied and ecstatic dances to woo their enemies as well as show incredible acts of strength during battle. In short, we owe an immeasurable amount of gratitude and thanks to our wives and mothers for going to battle for us everyday so that we can make these wines for you.
