The Producer
Rising Wines Collective brings you a comparison between Sonoma, California and Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir. Sonoma is showing how Pinot Noir can age, so we’re offering two bottles from 2012 and one from 2017 — all at their peak, tasting excellent, and ready to be opened at your next BBQ.
The 2012 Bacigalupi from L’Objet is a SPECIAL BOTTLE from vineyard to glass. The Bacigalupi Vineyard grew the grapes in the famed 1976 Judgement of Paris. In addition, this is the last vintage that the winemaker could get grapes, and it’s a brilliant wine that takes your taste buds on a journey as it opens up.
While many of Oregon’s Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs are built for 10+ years of cellar aging, we’re showcasing three consecutive years — 2019, 2020, and 2021 — and the approachability of these younger Pinot Noirs. So age a few more years, or open them tonight — you’ve got options.
