Our Story

Award-winning winemakers Anne Stevens and Todd Threlkeld started making wine as a hobby in 2011. What began as a garage-and-basement-winery in the heart of West Seattle, T2 moved to the new winery and tasting room in 2018 in Seattle’s Sodo district. They are a part of a growing group of urban wineries that welcome wine tasters to their working facility.

Todd and Anne partner with outstanding vineyards in Eastern Washington, developing relationships to source elegant, food-friendly wines. Years of work go into building those grower relationships, and since we’re a small winery, that’s an exciting thing for growers but not necessarily ideal for them. We are, let’s be honest, not their bread and butter. But I hope what I can do in small batches may be more difficult for a large winery; to create a wine that is a window to the vineyard.

As winemakers, our most prized possessions are the relationships we build with growers

T2 Cellar is a very small winery, and we create wines that are love letters to our grower partners and the hard work they have put in to build their vineyards.

Gamache Vineyard

Planted in 1983 and managed by Sagemoor Vineyards, this well-respected vineyard is ideal for Malbec and other Bordeaux varieties. Vineyard Manager, Miguel Contreras, didn't hesitate when I asked about his favorite vines — "the block 14 Malbec." These vines are on a slight east-facing slope on caliche soils. This calciferous soil lends a mineral complexity to the award-winning Malbec.

Diamondback Ridge Vineyard

Carved out of sagebrush, the vineyard sits on virgin ground that had never before been developed. Six different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon were planted on this same hillside — 4, 6, 7, 8, 15 and 33. The site offers a gentle slope that banks the vines toward the mid-morning sun and allows for airflow to keep the vines dry and healthy.
