Tasting Notes

Medium ruby in color. Intense aromas of dried strawberry, cranberry, and red cherry build with hints of cinnamon and clove, tobacco, with interesting floral, rose petal, earthy with resinous herbs. Rich and mouth-filling on the palate with an array of cranberry and red cherry, black tea, traces of cedar and mushroom. This wine has a smooth entry, yet enough acid to make it interesting. Moderate and well-integrated tannins lead to a long berry, earthy finish. This is a wine that should be decanted for 2 to 3 hours to begin to relish its full potential. Don’t be afraid to put the cork in and finish the next day, but once it’s in the glass, that challenge is Herculean. Drink now through 2027.
