Five Star Cellars is a family-owned and operated winery in Walla Walla. The Huse family has worked for over 20 years to produce high-quality wines. David began with Cabernet Sauvignon, then added Merlot and Syrah in the first few years before expanding the winery’s varietals. The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon was released in 2002 when the winery opened and was the family’s first sell-out vintage.
Matt, Five Star Cellars’ winemaker, was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley. After a few years as a carpenter, he joined his father in the family business and received a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Walla Walla Community College. Matt, David, and the rest of the Huse family continue to produce classic Washington Wines.
David Huse began the winemaking tradition and in 2002 his son, Matt, took the reins as winemaker — and the duo added Syrah to the growing profile of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Even as the winery has expanded, they have stayed true to their mission, providing high-quality Walla Walla wines for everyone
