Nalle is synonymous with premium Zinfandel. When Doug and Lee started their label in 1984, they intended to produce a Zin that expressed the intrinsic “zinberry” fruit and elegance of the Dry Creek Valley appellation. Today, Andrew and April’s intention remains the same — to create focused, fruit-forward wines in the old-school California style.
Known primarily for Zinfandel, our wines showcase the elegantly refined side of the varietal by bringing its beautiful zinberry characteristics and natural acidity to the forefront. The final result is Zinfandel’s more focused, elegant, and refreshing expression that will make you think differently about the varietal.
The Nalle winemaking style follows traditional vigneron techniques: low yields in the vineyard, hand picking and sorting, gentler macerations, and small fermentations. We age our Zin exclusively in French oak. Like stepping back in time, elegant, old-fashioned Zin flavors reflect the rich history of a land that has been cultivated for winemaking for 90 years.
One of Dry Creek Valley’s oldest wineries, Nalle Winery has been family-owned and operated by Doug and Lee Nalle since 1984. Their son Andrew and his wife April are at the helm of the Sonoma County estate. Their children will produce the 2042 vintage.
